ABOUT YC
Equally at home in your headphones on a quiet night, or on stage at your favorite venue, Yellow Cellophane delivers an eclectic blend of original compositions that range from sparse, acoustic driven, soulful ballads; to uptempo, danceable summertime jams. Singer/songwriter Hannah Sexton uses her wide vocal range and introspective lyricism to craft songs that are complex in thought but simple in pleasure. Adding to this is Kristian Trapp’s electric and slide guitar prowess, providing the virtuoso soloing to complement Hannah’s melodies. The back drop is created by multi-instrumentalist Eric Giancola, who along with software and programming specialist Brandon Trapp, take Hannah’s vision and provide a canvas for her vocal brush strokes, one which is certain to have you dancing along with the music.
Soaring vocal harmonies, relatable storytelling, and passionate instrumentalists combine to create an atmosphere of enjoyment and relaxed vibes.
Hannah Sexton is a 26 year-old from Elizabethtown, Ky. She's been playing music around Louisville since 2017 when she was the drummer for a group called Mother Runaway that lasted from January 2017- February 2018.
When the group disbanded she taught herself guitar, and started Yellow Cellophane in 2019.
From 2019-2022 Hannah played local venues as a solo artist, also writing and recording all of her own music from her bedroom.
March 2022, Yellow Cellophane became a live 3 piece featuring Kristian Trapp on lead guitar, Eric Giancola on bass and backup vocals, and Hannah Sexton fronting the band with main vocals and rhythm guitar. The group also contains Brandon Trapp who has programmed all the live tracking, and plays percussion. They debuted as a four piece at the local music festival "Poorcastle" in May 2022.
They are now working on new music and booking shows around the Louisville area. Stay tuned for updates.
